Walter T. Wendel Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville, March 20, 1984, for Walter T. Wendel, who died at a Cedar Rapids hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Wendel was born Dec. 8,1921, in Coblenz, Germany, and came to Hawarden with his parents in 1922. He married Vera Weber in 1945. Wendel resided in Mechanicsville for
29 years where he was employed by Weber Construction.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Lovell, both of Mechanicsville; his father Nickolaus of Hawarden; two sisters, Dorothy Skogman, of Hawarden, and Maxine Odem of Denison, TX; two brothers, John of Winder, GA, and Art of Babylon, NY; three grandchildren
and many friends.
