David Leon Haverhals, 26, of Hawarden died Tuesday, April 24, 1984, of injuries suffered in a farm accident, rural Hawarden. Services were Thursday, April 26, in Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center under direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Mr. Haverhals was born July 4, 1957, in Sioux Center. He attended Lebanon Christian School, Western Christian High School at Hull and Dordt College at Sioux Center. He served on the Dordt College Alumni Board, was a 4-H leader and was a member of Lebanon Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Peter Haverhals of Hawarden; two brothers, Peter J. of Lynnwood, WA, and Willard of Ireton and two sisters, Mrs,. Gordon (Gert) Blom of Sioux Center and Mrs. Stuart (Jo Ann) Dekkenga of Le Mars.
