Jack R. Krusen, 47, of Mapleton, died Friday, June 8, 1984, in a Sioux City Hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, in St. John's Lutheran Church in Mapleton. The Rev. Dick Krambeck officiated. Burial was in the Little Sioux Cemetery in Smithland

Mr. Krusen was born Jan. 27, 1937, near Ireton. As a young boy, he moved with his parents to the Hornick community. He attended high school in Smithland. He married Jeanette McClatchey Oct. 23, 1954, in Mapleton. He lived in Mapleton from 1954 to 1962 when he moved to Moville until 1967. He returned to Mapleton in 1977 where he lived the remainder of his life. He mainly was in the well drilling business. He worked for McClatchey and Son Drilling Co. for a number of years. The last few years he was selfemployed, drilling wells. He also was in the backhoe service, and worked for Orkin Pest Control the last year of his life. Whey they lived in Moville he was a refrigeration man for Flavorland in Sioux City. He was a member of the National Guard in Mapleton for 10 years, and was a member of the Mapleton Sky Hawks.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Kimberly) Timm of South Sioux City, NE; three sons, Jeffrey and Aaron both of Mapleton, and Benny of Denver; his mother, Mrs. Sophie Krusen of Hornick, two sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Mary) Bellinga of Marshalltown and Mrs.
Betty Newman, and four grandchildren.
