Margaret Ostlund, 73, of Hawarden died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1983, in a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, in the Alcester, SD, Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Van Camp officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Wass Funeral Home of Alcester.

Mrs. Ostlund, the former Margaret Hammerstrom, was born May 7, 1910, at Alcester. She was raised in Alcester and after graduating from the Alcester High School, she moved to Vermillion, SD, with her parents. She married Earl Ostlund May 18, 1934, at Le Mars. They made their home at Vermillion until 1936 when they moved to a farm south of Alcester. They retired in 1975 and moved to Hawarden.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ronald of St. Paul, MN, and Jerome of Minneapolis; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Kathleen) Austad of Buffalo. MN; two brothers, Dure of Los Angeles and Bertel of Sun City, AZ; one sister, Mrs. Hildur Cox of Denver, CO, and three grandchildren.
