Phil Schiefen, 72, of Hudson died Saturday in route to a hospital in Hawarden, Iowa. Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden. The Rev. William Carel officiated. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Family visitation was from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and the rosary was recited at 8 p.m. in the VanDeMore Funeral Home in Hudson.

Mr. Schiefen was born May 16, 1911, in McNally, Iowa. He married Lucille Wilkens Nov. 29, 1934, at Hawarden. They farmed in Lincoln County, near Hudson, until 1979 when they retired and moved to Hudson. Survivors include his wife; one son, Jerome of Hudson; three brothers, Frank of Jefferson, S.D., Vincent of Sioux City and Joe of Hawarden; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Sonichsen and Mrs. Helen Brimmer, both of Yankton, S.D.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Phil Schiefen, 72, of Hudson died Saturday, Feb. 11, 1984, enroute to a hospital in Hawarden.
Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden. The Rev. William Carel officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herbert Van Egdom, Raymond Hazel, Howard Van Engen, John Van Egdom, Gysbert Bakker and J. B. Schiefen. Honorary pallbearers were William J. Anderson, Clarence Kooima, Lorenz Janssen, Raymond Nitz, Glen Lyren, Oliver Sorlye, William DeWeerd and Fountain Cain.
