Mrs. Jerome (Barbara) Schiefen, 42, Hudson, SD, died December 22, 1983, in a traffic accident in Sioux City. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hawarden. The Rev. William Caret officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Family visitation was from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Monday,Dec. 26, and a prayer service at 8p.m. at VanDeMore Funeral Home, Hudson.

Mrs. Schiefen, the former Barbara, Adams was born March 14, 1941, at Hudson. She married Jerome Schiefen June 3, 1959, at Hawarden. They had lived on a farm near Hudson since 1966.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Martin, Norfolk, VA,David, Sioux Falls, SD, and Gregory, Hudson; a daughter, Suzan Reynolds, Sioux Falls; one grandchild; three brothers, Ronald Adams, Saudi Arabia, Steven Adams, South Sioux City, NE, and Patrick Adams, Hawarden; a sister Mrs. Jerry (Kathleen) Smith, Alpena, SD; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Adams, Hawarden.
