At the Tomb.
Just as the sun had sunk from view in the western horizon last Friday evening, the summons came to the spirit of Maggie Losey, wife of W. E. Losey, that the mansion prepared for her in that "land of pure delight" was awaiting her occupancy. The announcement of her death did not cause surprise, because it had been looked for at any moment by her dearest friends and neighbors. For almost two years Mrs. Losey had been an invalid, much of the time being confined to her room and couch. At times hopeful signs of regaining health appeared, only to cause bitter disappointment among those who were near and dear to her as relapse followed relapse. Her one great desire to be restored to a reasonable degree of health was that she might be a solace and comfort to him who had shown such tender devotion towards her through the months of her suffering. Never had lovers shown more tender affection one for the other than did these two, since they were joined together in the holy bounds of wedlock.
During the last few weeks of her illness Mrs. Losey had come to the realization that it remained a question of only a few days or weeks at most until her sufferings would be relieved by the final summons for her to receive that beautiful rest to which she was entitled by virtue of her faith in the promise of him who said, "I go to prepare a place for you." Mrs. Losey expressed great faith in those promises, and to her friends who visited her, she manifested an earnest desire that all might enjoy the same blessed assurance of a blissful rest beyond the river that she then enjoyed. Mrs. Losey during her residence among us gained many friends by maintaining a refined Christian character. Although deprived on account of a long illness, of mingling in social circles, yet she will be missed from among the people.
Mrs. Maggie Losey, whose maiden name was Griffith, was born near Cambria, Wis., April 29, 1865. She moved with her parents to Lake Crystal, Minn. at an early day. She was married to W. E. Losey, June 15, 1892. One child which died in infancy was born to this union.
She united with the M. E. Church of Hull by certificate of membership from Zion church at Minneapolis, Minn. A husband, mother, five brothers and a sister mourn her departure, for each of whom the sympathies of this community go out in this bereavement.
The funeral of Mrs. Losey was held [smudged] Sunday at the M. E. church, [smudged] being conducted by the pastor [smudged] Smith, assisted by Rev. Chase of the Academy. The remains were [smudged] to Hope cemetery followed by a large concourse of friends and neighbors.
