Mrs. William H. Johannsen, 82, of Hawarden, died Wednesday, Aug. 3,1983, in a nursing home in Alcester, SD. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, in the American Lutheran Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Robert Hansen officiated Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jerome Keiser, David Keiser, Douglas Johnson, Lance Johnson, Steve Kiewel and Glen Lawrenson.

Mrs. Johannsen, the former Josephine Elizabeth Berry, was born June 15,1901, at Elk Point, SD, and attended school there. In 1920 she moved with her family to a farm at Morris, MN. She married William H. Johannsen March 29, 1922, at Morris, MN. They farmed in the Alcester area, retiring to Hawarden in 1962. He died May 30,1965. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Derald (Irene) Keiser and Mrs. Lowell (Ruth) Johnson, both of Alcester; one brother, Fred Selk of Morris; one sister, Margaret Simmons of Glenwood, MN; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
