Henry Grotenhuis of Newkirk died Saturday at Ten o'clock after an illness of four or five weeks with heart disease. Henry was born March fifteenth in Wisconsin and came here when a lad of seven or eight years. Eight years ago he married Miss Kate Mulder of Alton. Five children were born to them and all live to mourn with the mother. Deceased leaves an aged mother at Newkirk and four brothers and two sisters. They are Mrs. Gerit Kleinwolterink of Sheldon, Gerrit, William, John, Ed and Mrs. John De Vries of this vicinity.

The funeral was conducted at Newkirk Monday by Rev. Schuurman of the locak Church, Van Duine of Alton and Hemmstra of Orange City. It was one of the largest funerals in Newkirk's history.

(From an account on ancestry.com (not verified by the submitter) Henry TeGrotenhuis was born 1867 at Cedar Grove Wisconsin and died 1907 at Newkirk. He was the son of Evert Jan TeGrotenhuis 1832-1901 and Berendina Aleida Rensink 1839-1912. His wife was Kate Mulder 1877-1967 they were married in Sioux County on 6 Oct 1886. Their children were Martin 1899, Ida 1901, John 1903, Minnie 1906 and Clarence 1907.)
