Garrett G. Rozeboom G. Rozeboom, 91, of Rock Rapids, formerly of Sioux Center, died Friday, October 22, at Rock Rapids.

Services were at 10 A.M. Monday, October 25, at the First Reformed Church, Sioux Center, with the Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens, Sioux Center.

Garrett Rozeboom was born near Rock Valley and attended country school there. He graduated from Sioux Center High School.

After graduating from Calvin College, he married Elsie Rozeboom. He taught at Grand Rapids Christian High; Lone Tree, Iowa; and Rehoboth Christian School, New Mexico. He then served two years in the military during World War II, after which he returned to teaching at Pella Christian and Western Christian. After receiving his doctorate at the University of Northern Colorado, he taught at that university, the University of Aberdeen (South Dakota) and finally ended his teaching career after several years at Dordt College.

He was interested in music and sports and had a passion and concern for youth. His retirement years were spent enjoying helping others and going south in the winter. There he led Bible studies and directed a choir.

The couple moved from their farm home near Sioux Center to the Regency; and after he suffered a stroke, they moved to the Rock Rapids Health Care Center where he lived until his death. Survivors include his wife, Elsie; his brother, William; sister-in-law, Ann; brother, Ed and his wife Bernice; and a nephew and several nieces.

He was preceded in death by a sister who died in infancy; his parents; and his brother, John.
