Helen C. Rozeboom, age 91, of Orange City, died Wednesday, January 2, 1991 at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

Helen Catherine was born May 28, 1899 at Orange City, the daughter of William Rozeboom and Antoinette Vander Gijp Rozeboom.

She attended the Orange City Public Schools and Northwestern Academy in Orange City. She graduated from Central College in Pella and also attended Iowa State College, the University of Chicago, and the University of Colorado.

She was a teacher in Sioux Center, Orange City and Spencer High Schools and Northwestern Academy.

She then took Social Services training at the University of Chicago and subsequently held several Social Services position, the last of which was as School Social Worker in the Sioux City Public Schools.

In 1968 she retired and returned to Orange City where she became active as a volunteer in the Sioux County Unit of the American Cancer Society.

Miss Rozeboom was the last surviving charter member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City where she belonged to the Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Orange City Federated Women’s Club.

Survivors include two sisters, Annette Van Oort of Sanborn and Catherine Vander Berg of Orange City; a brother, Dr. Lloyd Rozeboom of Hampstead, Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 5, 1991 at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Donald De Glopper officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
