Mrs. D. Van der Ploeg departed this life Wednesday as the midnight hour was close at hand, after a long and painful illness of nervous prostration. She was the daughter of H. Postma and leaves a father, mother, husband, three children six brothers to mourn her loss. At the time of her death she was 32 years old and had been married about 10 years.

The deceased was a true christian, a loving wife, a fond and affectionate mother, truly devoted to her children and her home. The funeral will occur today at the Holland church and will be conducted by the M.W.A., of which her husband was a member.

(A memorial resolution in the June 5 edition of the Rock Valley Register from the M.W.A. [Modern Woodmen of America, probably] refers to her as Mrs. Derk Van der Ploeg. A memorial resolution by the Ladies Missionary Society refers to her as "one of our officers.")
