Funeral services for Cornelius “Neal” DeNoble, 80, of Hills, Minnesota, were held Thursday at Bethel Reformed Church, Lester, with interment in Hillside Cemetery.

He died Sunday, December 5, 1993, at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. DeNoble was born March 24, 1913, at Middleburg. He was the son of Cornelius and Alida (VanderVoort) DeNoble. He grew up and attended school in the Hills area.

On April 29, 1940, he married Henrietta Korenberg at Sibley. They farmed near Lester for two years before moving to Larchwood. In 1944 they moved to a farm south of Hills where they farmed until moving into Hills in 1977.

Neal enjoyed working on the farm and even after moving into town, he still helped his sons with their farm work.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta; three sons, Robert, Marlin and Dwight, all of Hills; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Lyda) Timmerman of Rock Rapids, Mrs. Gerrit (Betty) Kooima of Rock Valley and Mrs. Darrell (Cheryl) Hoekstra of Alton; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth of Rock Rapids, and one sister, Nell Jongerius of Rock Rapids.
