Mrs. Geels who lived south of town at the home of her son Christian Geels died last week Friday. The funeral was held at the Chr. Ref. Church on Monday afternoon. In 1894 she came with her husband and son William from Apeldoorn Netherlands. Less that a year later her husband died. Nine children were born to them seven of whom have been laid to rest.

(from www.wiewaswie.nl marriage record – Arend Christiaan Geels age 31 son of Christaan Geels and Wilhemina te Borgel married 15 Feb 1862 Voorst Gelderland to Janna De Goeijen 31 daughter of Jan de Goeijen and Janna Janssen. Arend died abt 1895 Orange City. Janna died June 1907. Their living sons were William and Christiaan. The rest of their nine children died in theNetherlands. )
