Bert Rus, 73. of Rock Valley, died May 29 at Hegg Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. Services were held May 31 at the Netherlands Reformed Church with The Rev. Joel Beeke officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of he Porter Funeral Home.

Bert Rus was born December 12, 1906. at Corsica, South Dakota. He married Gertie Van Maanen on Janaury-15. 1929, at Rock Valley. They farmed in the Inwood area until retiring to Rock Valley in 1966.

Survivors include the. widow; two sons. John of Alton and Edward of Rock Valley; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Lucille) Richters of Hawarden ana1 Mrs. Walter (Bernice) Van Den Oever of Pipestone, Minnesota. Also five brothers. Lane, Jacob and John, all of Corsica; Neal of Holland. Michigan and Marinus of Artesia. California; one sister, Mrs. Martin (Lizzie) Vanden Brink of Sioux Center, 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
