Angeline Hamersma, 86, Hawarden, died Sunday, July 22, 2001 at Hillcrest Health Care Center. Funeral service was Wednesday at United Methodist Church at Hawarden. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Ireton with the Rev. Stuart Schreur officiating. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Angeline Hamersma was born Nov. 8,1941 south of Hawarden, the daughter of John and Vern (Cott) White. She married Martin Hamersma on July 2, 1932 at Vermillion. Together they farmed west of Hawarden until retirement when they moved to Hawarden. She worked at Miller's Flower Shop. She was a member of UMW at United Methodist Church. Mr. Hamersma died May 5,1979.

Survivors include: three daughters, Helen Sherrill of Pierre, SD, Martha Nielsen of Viborg, SD, and Nancy Statema of Orange City; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant brother, Charles; brother Ama White; sister Alberta Hamersma.
