Theodore "Ted" Hamann, 72, of Rock Valley died Sunday at his home after a long illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. William Wingert officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. The rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Hamann was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Hamburg, Germany. He married Florence Aurit in February of 1934, in Luverne, Minn. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and movie theater projectionist at Rock Valley. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 84th Infantry.

Survivors include his wife; one sons, Steven of Canton, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Judy) Graves of Rock Valley and Mrs. Gariel (Susan) Robinson of Waterloo; four brothers, Bill and Heinie, both of California, Max and Karl, both of Rock Valley; four sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Greta) Miller, Mrs. Clifford (Elsie) Moore, Mrs. Bertha Splear, all of Rock Valley and Mrs. Heine (Minnie) Junge of Sioux City and three grandchildren.
