Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. Monday for Henry De Vries, 83, retired farmer and life-long resident of Sioux Center community, who died at his home here Friday morning after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Harry Brower and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral home.

Mr. De Vries was born in Sioux Center July 20, 1879, and grew up on a farm near here. He was married to Jennie Vermeer March 23, 1905, in Sioux Center.

Survivor's include a son, Gerben, of Sioux Center; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Te Slaa and Mrs. William Rikkers, both of Hull; two grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
