Martin Winter of Oakton S. D. died last week after a short illness. He came here when this colony was young and lived here fifteen years. After that he moved to Sioux Center where he resided a number of years before going to South Dakota. He is a brother of Mrs. Hooiveld.

(This was found to be Martin Jerry Winters born 5 May 1832 Groningen Netherlands died 7 May 1907 Murdo Jones South Dakota, married Neeltje Van Wyk 1852-1916, married 8 Dec 1872 Orange City IA, They had a large family of children - Rienje, John, Jurren, Nellie, Jerry, Egbert, Mitchell, Peter, Eva and Aggie.)
