Ida De Vries, 88, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, May 12, in a hospital in Sioux Center.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Mary 14, at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, the Rev. Gil Kamps officiating.

Born Ida Bleyenberg on May 13, 1898 in Ede, The Netherlands, she came to the United States in 1902 and attended school in Sioux Center. She married William De Vries February 23, 1923 in Ireton. The couple farmed near Ireton, Maurice, and Alton before retiring to Sioux Center. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Alton Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughter, Geraldine Van Es of Minneapolis, MN and Audrey Matthews of Sioux Falls; a son, Glen of Phoenix, AZ.; a brother Gerrit, and two sisters, Gertie Schelling and Bess Harskamp, all of Sioux Center; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
