Funeral services for Mrs. Gerben De Vries, 38, who died Saturday following a short illness in a Sioux City hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Reformed Church with Rev. P.A. De Jong officiating and Rev. Henry Vermeer assisting.

Music was furnished by the Vermeer family quartet and Mrs. Aalbers, organist.

Pall Bearers were Gerald Den Herder, Albert De Vries, Harold Vermeer, Orville Kempers, Theron Mulder, and John Santema.

Burial was in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Gerben De Vries, nee Agnes Vande Brake passed away very suddenly on Sat. evening following a short illness, at the Methodist Hospital in Sioux City.

On July 14, 1934 she was united in marriage to Mr. Gerben De Vries at Sioux Center. She is now survived by her husband and two daughters, Jeanine and Ranae Lou. She is further survived by the following brothers and sisters; Tillie Vande Brake, Chicago Ill; Priscilla, (Mrs. Ed Van Putten), Sioux Center; Jake Vande Brake, Orange City; Rev. Henry Vande Brake, Fairlawn, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Vande Brake, her father passing away in the year of 1918 at the age of 40 years and her mother in the year of 1935 at the age of 48 years, one brother Eibert, who lost his life in a tractor accident May 23, 1945 at the age of 37 years and also a brother Eibert who died in infancy.
