Hawarden Independent, February 21, 1895

Henry Gosline, one of the pioneer residents of Alcester died very suddenly Wednesday afternoon from heart disease. He was seated in the hotel at that place engaged in conversation, when his head dropped forward and he expired almost instantly. "Hank" as he was called by everyone, was about 62 years of age, and old soldier, and a man who though blunt in his ways had a heart that never failed to respond to the wants of those in need or in trouble. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock.
