Hull - Claryce Gorzeman, 88, Hull, died Monday, Aug. 30 at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Services were Wednesday, Sept. 1 at American Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Steven Bierly officiating. Burial was at Hope Cemetery in Hull under the direction of Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Claryce Gorzeman, daughter of Henry & Rose (Vander Schaaf) Hymans, was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Hull. She attended school in Hull, and later, the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She married Leonard J. Gorzeman on March 15, 1941, in Hull. They lived in Hull most of their life. She was employed in public education in the Cleghorn, Hawarden, Sibley, Sioux Center and Boyden-Hull schools. Mr. Gorzeman died July 24, 1990 in Rock Valley. She became a resident of Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull in March 2000. She was a member of American Reformed Church in Hull.

Survivors include a son, Jack & Joy Gorzeman of Carlsbad, CA; a daughter, Rosalyn Gorzeman of Knoxville, TN; a granddaughter; a sister, Virginia Clymer of Minneapolis; a sister-in-law, Lola Hymans of Des Moines, and a brother-in-law, Dale Kraai of Hull.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Gorzeman; a brother, Hal Hymans; and three sisters, Delia Meylink, Doris Kraai and Myra Kraai.

Memorials may be directed to the American Reformed Church Building Fund.
