Dick Rozeboom was born on Dec. 12, 1922 at Sioux Center, IA to John and Anna (Kruizenga) Rozeboom. He graduated from Sioux Center High School and later attended Central College in Pella, IA. On Sept. 26, 1944 Dick enlisted in the United States Army and was inducted at Ft. Snelling, MN. He attained the rank of Tech 4 with the 86th Infantry. He was honorably discharged on June 25, 1946 at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois.

Following his military service, Dick returned to Sioux Cnter and worked at the Co-op. He married Judith Van Engen on Dec. 12, 1947 at Doon, IA. The couple made their home on a farm near Sioux Center. In 1952 they moved to a farm near Doon, IA. Dick and his family then moved to a farm near Steen, MN in 1966 and to an acreage near Luverne in 1972. Mrs. Rozeboom passed away on Oct. 6, 1979. Dick continued to live on the acreage and worked as a cattle buyer with his son Kevin. He suffered a stroke and became a resident at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne on Sept. 1, 1993. He was a member of the Reformed Church of Steen, MN.

Dick will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Cheryl (Jessie) Yarboro of Alexandria, VA, Audrey (Eugene) Juffer of Mitchell, SD and Debra (Fay) Anderson of Orange City, IA; sons Roger (Kimberly) Rozeboom of Albion, NE and Kevin (Allie) Rozeboom of Luverne, MN; grandchildren; Tanja (Kent) Shelton, Nicole, Kim, Brad and Amber Juffer, Ryan Anderson, Robert and Anna Rozeboom and Douglas Rozeboom; sisters, Alice Van Wyk of Hawarden, IA and Eldine Warburton of Belton, MO; brothers Gerrit (Kathleen) Rozeboom and Marion "Bud" (Gert) Rozeboom both of Sioux Center, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Judith; an infant brother and a brother James.

Hospice of Luverne Community Hospital will plant a tree in memory of Dick.
