Mrs. Peter Smit of Maurice passed away at her home on Monday evening following an illness of some time due to lung trouble. She had reached the age of 47 years.

Mae is survived by three children Marvin, Mrs. Henry Van Roekel and Harold all of Maurice, and 1 grandchild. She is also survived by her aged father, Mr. F. Vander Broek and the following brother and sisters. Gerrit Vander Broek of Maurice, Frank Vander Broek, Tony Vander Broek, Mrs. Gerrit Mulder, Mrs. John Mulder, William Vander Broek and Martin Vander Broek all of Orange City, and Peter Vander Broek and Henrietta Vander Broek of Maurice.

Her mother and two sisters preceded her in death, as also her husband, Peter, and a three year old son Howard who both passed away in 1940.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, March 14 at one o’clock at the home of her father. Mr. F. Vander Broek and at the First Reformed Church. Rev. Roggen and Rev. Gerrit Bosch will officiate and burial will take place at the Maurice Cemetery.
