Manus Scheringa (Hermannus Scheeringa) died Friday last after two days of intense suffering with his head. For some time he has been incapacitated for work by a tumor of the brain. The funeral was held Saturday from the Chr. Ref church. He leaves a wife and five children in poor circumstances.

(After much investigation this was found to be Hermannus Scheeringa born 22 Jan 1870 Grootegast Netherlands. He was the son of Tonnis Wobbes Scheringa and Grietje Johannes Pol, he married Dec 4, 1893 to Sjoukje Holtrop. Born at Grootegast about 1872. She was the daughter of Ite Holtrop and Etje Boerema. They were just in the USA a few years when he became ill. Listed on a family record on line were the five children Maggie 1896, Edith 1899, Hattie 1901, Tillie 1904 and Tennie .
