Mrs. D. Dykstra, 91 Succumbs January 8
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 11, in the First Christian Reformed church, for Mrs. Douwe Dykstra, 91, who passed away Wednesday, January 8. Rev.H.Roelofs officiated. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wobbema, who were accompanied by Miss Janice Bruxvoort, organist. Pallbearers were Steve Siebersma, Dick Vink, Harvey Oolman, Donald Kuiken, Duane Muilenberg and Robert Vogelaar. Interment was in the Orange City Cemetery.

Mrs. Dykstra was born Susie Holtrop on April 4, 1872 in The Netherlands. She was married to Herman Scheeringa in 1893, who preceded her in death. In 1912, she was married to Mr. Douwe Dykstra.

She had been a patient in the Geriatrics Ward of the Municipal hospital for the past year. She Is survived by her husband and seven daughters, Mrs. Henry Kramer Sr., Mrs. John Vink, Mrs. Herman Oolman, Mrs. Martin Kuiken, Mrs. Neal Vogelaar, Mrs. Howard Muilenberg, Mrs. Wilbur Ver Steeg; 33 grandchildren, 85 greatgrandchildren and 4 great great- grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Also found a report on line that listed their children as Maggie 1896, Edith 1899, Hattie 1901, Tillie 1904 and Tennie 1908. )
