Katie Siemens, the daughter of Robert and Jana (Wiegmann) Siemens was born September 22, 1900 in Heerenland, East Friesland, Germany. She attended school there until the family immigrated to America in 1913 and settled in the Ledyard area. She continued her education here and then did domestic work for a time. On March 27, 1922, Katie was united in marriage to Frank Pruismann in Webster City. They made their home in Webster City, Woden, and Titonka before moving to Algona in 1968. Her husband passed away in 1969. Katie became a resident of the Algona Good Samaritan Center in 1991. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers.

Katie Pruisman passed from this life at the age of ninety-five years on Sunday, August 18, 1996 at the Good Samaritan Cener, Algona, IA. She is survived by four sons, Marvin, of Sioux Center, Franklin, Robert, and Kenneth, all of Blairsburg, IA: five daughters, Luella, Mrs. Herbert de Boer of Little Rock, IA; Frances Black of Algona, IA; Arlene Albert of Loveland, CO; Janette Minzenmeyer, of Anamosa, IA; and Kathryn Roberts of Marion, IA, thirty six grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren, one brother, Joe Siemens of Hoffman, MN; and one sister Reka Weiler of Lakota, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Harold, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two brothers, Albert and Robert Siemens.
