The community was greatly shocked when word reached here that Mrs. J. H. Siebels had passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City at 10:30 Tuesday night. Few knew of her sickness and did not know of its seriousness. She had been ill but a few days with a cold and flu which turned into pneumonia and she was suffering from gall stones at the same time. Tuesday her case became alarming and she was taken to the hospital only to pass to the other side in a few short hours after her arrival there. He body was brought to Ireton Wednesday morning and then taken to the Satterlee undertaking parlors.

Mrs. Siebels was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Renken, her father having preceded her in death a few years ago. She had attained the age of 49 years. The family came here from Mt. Olive, Ill. The Siebels family farmed the old Hiller farm, just south of the Center school in Washington Township. Mrs. Siebels was respected by all who knew her. She was a hard working, industrious wife and mother and will be greatly missed in the family circle. Her husband, two daughters and one son mourn the death of a loving wife and mother, Viola, the eldest daughter, is nearly 17 years old and a student in the Ireton high school. Jack, the son, is a lad of 12, and the youngest daughter Leona is 6 years old. One child died in infancy. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Jacob Renken of Wentworth, S.D. and five sisters, Mrs. Wm. Treiber of Ireton, Mrs. F. l. Schiefen of Hawarden, Mrs. E. Helfrich of Casper, Wyo., Mrs. Sena Burgess of Seattle, Wa. and Mrs. Henry Pech of Oakes, N.D. and three brothers, Will, John, and Harry Renken of Wentworth, S.D. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family in their sudden bereavement.
