Born: January 10, 1886 Oude Ley, Freisland, Netherlands
Died: February 23, 1942 Orange City, Iowa

Herman Siderius was born in Oude Ley, Freisland, Netherlands on January 10, 1887. On May 20, 1911 he was united in marriage with Tietje de Vries. To this union two children were born, John of this city and Dorothy, a teacher in Walnut, Iowa.

In 1913 Mr. and Mrs. Siderius came to America and settled near Marion, North Dakota, where they resided for 24 years. Four years ago they came to Orange City, Iowa where Mr. Siderius worked as a Watkins salesman.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church of this city. He was always deeply interested in church work and was always faithful and regular in attendance.

Mr. Siderius was in good health up to the time of his death Monday morning, February 23, 1942. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. H. Siderius; 2 children, Dorothy and John, his daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Siderius, and granddaughter Phyllis; his mother, Mrs. J. Siderius of Pennock, Minn.; two sisters, Anna (Mrs. Martin Westra) also of Pennock and Cornelia (Mrs. William Stelpstra) of Paterson, N. J.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, Feb. 26, at the First Reformed Church of Orange City, at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. H. Colenbrander officiating. Interment will be in the local cemetery.
