Mrs. Edna J. Fedders, 75, of Orange City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19 shortly after arrival at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Edna Julia was born Aug. 31, 1911 at Orange City, the daughter of Henry J. Pennings and Matilda Mouw Pennings. On Feb. 17, 1933 she married John G. Fedders at Orange City. They farmed in the Orange City area until June of 1976 when they retired into Orange City. Mrs. Fedders was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City where she was active in the women's organizations. For nearly 20 years she was employed at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

Survivors include her husband; five children, Gladys (Mrs. Leo Eason) of Orange City; Hertilda (Mrs. Hank Vermilyea) of Bloomington, Minn.; Ernest of Orange City; Joyce (Mrs. Ronald Bradley) of Brookfield, Mo.; and Larry of Sheldon; 11 grandchildren, Deborah Vander Plas, Lyle Eason, Jeff Fedders, Brenda Carnes, Bruce Vermilyea, Kevin Bradley, Brent Fedders, Lori Bradley, Kristi Fedders, Darla Fedders and Lisa Fedders; six great-grandchildren, Alecia Vander Plas, Stacia Vander Plas, Joshua Fedders, Ryan Vander Plas, Amy Fedders and Kimberly Eason; two sisters, Adrianna (Mrs. William G. Nibbelink) and Wilmyna, both of Orange City; and 11 halfbrothers and half-sisters, Engelbert, Gertrude, Gerrit and Wilbur Pennings; Matilda (Mrs. Ferrand Deur); Harriet, Lawrence and Clarence Pennings; Helen (Mrs. Engelbert Triemstra); and Milton and Harold Pennings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry James and Adrian Pennings.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 21 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Revs. Ralph A. Pontier and Frank Snuttjer officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman- Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
