Henry Wm. Shoraga, 90, a resident of Hawarden 36 years, died Tuesday morning in the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Talsma, following a stroke.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. O. F. Pittack officiating. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran church cemetery, south of Alcestor, with the Barnard Funeral service in charge.

Mr. Shoraga was born near Nokomis, Ill. May 9, 1869, where he grew to manhood, Shortly after he came to the Alcester vicinity he married Miss Wilhelmine Sophie Wilkens, of Alcester Feb. 8, 1905. Four children were born, two of whom preceded him in death. Four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Shoraga celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in the presence of many relatives and friends. Mrs. Shorage preceded him in death February 23, 1957.

In 1923, Mr. Shoraga retired from the farm and he and his wife came to Hawarden to live on Avenue E. at this time Mr. Shoraga became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Shortly after the death of his wife, Mr. Shoraga moved into the home of his daughter on Avenue I. He had been in failing health for some time.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Talsma of Hawarden; a son, Dr. Louis H. Shoraga of Alcester, S.D.; one brother, Louis Shoraga of Nokomis, Ill, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Weeks of Vermillion, S. D.
