Wilbur "Bud" Heuer, 65, of Ireton, died Saturday, August 23 at the Hawarden Hospital of a long illness. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Ireton. The Rev. Paul Sieveking officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home of Ireton.

Mr. Heuer was born Sept. 5, 1914 in Hawarden. He married Norma Degen March 15, 1946 at Ireton. For the last 35 years Mr. Heuer had farmed in the Ireton area. Mr. Heuer was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Ireton American Legion Post.. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Dick of Hawarden and Tom of Ireton; his father, Fred W. Heuer of Alcester, SD; two brothers, Ted and Art, both of Hawarden; two sisters, Mrs. James (Vera) Squier and .Mrs. George (Donnie) Wood, both of Hawarden; and six grandchildren.
