Albert Anderson, a lifelong resident of this community, passed away about 12:15 Monday afternoon at the Gladstone Hotel from heart trouble. He had been in poor health for several months and for the past two weeks had been bedfast.

Funeral services were held at the Barnard Funeral Home at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. T.H. Harding, pastor of the Associated Church, in charge. Interment was made in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Albert Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Anderson, was born at Alcester August 16, 1885, and passed away July 29, 1935, being almost 50 years of age. His boyhood days were spent at Alcester but later he came to Hawarden and at one time was employed by the North Western Railway company in this city. He was united in marriage with Dora Christiansen in the spring of 1918 and to this union five children were born. His wife passed away in 1930. During his married life he was engaged in farming southwest of Hawarden but after the death of his wife he returned to this city and lived here until his death. When his wife passed away leaving five young children, relatives and friends opened their homes and cared for them. Two children, Helene and Donald, make their home with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Anderson in this city; Lawrence lived with his father; Evelyn lives with an aunt, Mrs. N.A. Penning, at Bloomer, Wisconsin, and Gladys makes her home at Alcester. Besides his five children he is survived by five brothers, Martin, Carl, and Emil of Hawarden; John of Los Angles, California, and Ingwald of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Alcester; Mrs. N.A. Penning of Bloomer, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Harold Abbey of Witten, South Dakota.
