Mrs. Edwin Meether, 76, of Akron died Sunday, March 9 in a nursing home at Alcester, SD.. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Hawarden. The Rev.
Dwight Rengstorf officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery at Le Mars under direction of the Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden.

Mrs. Meether, the former Elizabeth Tiedeh, was born Oct. 2, 1903, in Sioux County. She was married April 29, 1923 at Hawarden and they farmed at rural Akron. Mr. Meether died Nov. 14, 1967. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hawarden.

Survivors include four sons, Marvin of Akron, Arthur "J.L." of Power City, N.D., Duane of Plainfield, and John of Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Johnson of Le Mars and Mrs. Etta Huff of Akron.
