Frank E. Hedden, Sturgis, former Hawarden resident, died Wednesday, March 12,1980 in his home. Services were Monday, March 17, 1980 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Herbert Cleveland officiating. Burial was in the Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Hedden was born January 16, 1893 in Hawarden. He served in the Army during World War I. He was married to Germaine Kreibs at Rapid City April 25, 1922. They ranched at Union Center until 1939 when they moved into Sturgis. He worked many years for the State Highway Department and later as a steamfitter at Fort Meade VA Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Vonda Lee of Billings, Mont., and Joan Schoone of Racine, Wis.: also 9 grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Finch of Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
