Wilmer Wilkens, 64, former Marshalltown resident, died Wednesday, April 16 in Fayetteville, Ark. where he had made his home since 1977.

He was born Oct. 8, 1915 at Hawarden. He was the son of Herman and Edna Stoltenberg Wilkens. He received his education in the area of his birth. He married Mary Harn in Marshalltown on Sept. 15, 1940 and they had always made their home in Marshalltown until moving to Arkansas in 1977. Mr. Wilkens was a carpenter by trade. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mary; five daughters, Mrs. Karen O'Connor of Utica, Mich., Mrs. Leila Stanfield, Port Huron, Mich., Mrs. Shirley Vest of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Gail Voigt of Hazel Park, Mich., and Mrs. Paula McCutcheon of Fayetteville, Ark; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Lester and Glenn Wilkens, both of Hawarden; and three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Schiefen of Hudson, S.D., Mrs. Ruth Spicer of Conrad and Mrs. Fern Humphreys of Casper, Wyo.
Services were at the chapel of Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Reuben Tjaden, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
