Mortimer Shook, 82, formerly of Ireton died Sunday in a hospital at Mitchell, S.D. after a long illness.

Funeral service were held on Tuesday in the Methodist church in Ireton with Rev. Plummer of Marcus and Rev. Lois Payne officiating. Burial was in the Ireton Cemetery under the direction of the Satterlee Funeral Home.

Mr. Shook came to Ireton in the early 1930's and was employed as a section boss on the Northwestern railroad. After the death of his wife he continued to live in Ireton for a time but later went to Spencer, S.D. to live with a daughter.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Amy Lehrman of Spencer S.D., Mrs. Alta Gegory of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Lucy Ahmen of Ragan, Nebraska and Mrs. Elna Dieters of Eagle Grove, Iowa one son, Duane Shook of Minneapolis, Minn. and 12 grandchildren.
