Carl D. Schwiesow,. 69, of Hawarden, died Wednesday, Jan. 23 in a hospital at Hawarden of brief illness. Services, were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Associated Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Dr. Heston Milligan officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of the Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden.

Mr. Schwiesow was born Jan. 5, 1911, near Akron. He married Perla Whitney Jan. 1, 1934, at Akron. He was employed by Western Contracting Corp., in Sioux City 40 years as a traveling mechanic. He had lived in Hawarden since 1955. He was a veteran of World War II. The past few years he has been employed by Everist Inc. He was a member of the Associated Church and the American Legion.

Survivors include the widow; , one son, Donald of New York City; four brothers Hellmuth and Henry, both of Hawarden, William of Mesa, Ariz, and Elmer of Ponca, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Dave (Mildred) Banghart of Bur bank, Calif, and Mrs. Irene Peterson .of Sioux City; an aunt, Freda Nickolson of Le Mars and an uncle, Henry Specht of Hawarden
