Halvar Sether, 72 who was born on a farm in Union County, just west of Hawarden, died Monday at a Sioux Falls Hospital after an illness of several days.
Funeral services will be 2 o'clock Friday at Roseni Lutheran church at Alcester. Rev. A. Parnell Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Sether, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Sether, was born June 16, 1886. Most recently he resided on a farm seven miles southwest of Alcester.

A sister, Mrs. Wright Smethurst of Canton, S.D. survives.
