Funeral Service Held Tuesday for John Fluit, 23
Funeral services were held at the Netherlands Reformed church here at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, for John Fluit, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jella Fluit, who died Saturday morning at the Veteran's hospital in Sioux Falls of nephritis. Funeral rites were conducted by the Rev. C. Hegeman and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral home.

Pall Bearers were Teunis Rozeboom, Dick Rozeboom, Teunis Fluit, John Fluit, Teunis Van Voorst and Henry Hoeffaker.

John was born August 30, 1939, at Larchwood, Iowa, and grew to young manhood in this area. On February 11, 1959, he entered the army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and served until receiving a medical discharge on June 15, 1961, months service in Korea. He was stationed for a time at Ft. Knox, Ky., and at Ft. Riley, Kans., and also was confined for a time at Fritzimmons Army Hospital in Denver.

Survivors besides his parents include his fiancee Miss Phyllis Bos of Sheldon, four brothers; Tunis, Jerald, Bernard and James, all of Sioux Center; three sisters, Clazine (Mrs. Evert Van Ginkel) of Rock Valley, Janet (Mrs. Marion Hoogendoorn) of Sioux Center, and Mary Lynn, Sioux Center; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Jennie De Bondt of Sioux Center
