Jeanette Thomassen, 64, of Sheldon, died Wednesday, November 4, in the Sheldon hospital.

Services were Saturday at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon with the Rev. Kenneth Tenckinck officiating. Burial was at East Lawn Cemetery.

Born Jeanette Bartman on June 29, 1923 in Leota, MN, she lived her youth and attended rural school at Middleburg. She married Art Thomassen, May 23, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple lived in California until 1949 when they moved to Sheldon. He died April 20, 1981. She was employed at Village Northwest from 1978 to 1981.

She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Witt of Sioux Falls; two sons, Eugene of Granville, MI, and Arlen of Matlock; three brothers, Ed of Edgerton, MN; Peter of Portage, MI, and William of Sioux Center, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
