Bertha Thomassen, 101, one of the oldest residents of Sioux County, died Wednesday in a hospital in Sioux Center.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday in the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley. The Rev. A. Den Boer officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomassen, the former Bertha De Graff, was born Sept. 24, 1880, in the Netherlands. She came to the United States in 1919.

She married Herman Thomassen in 1921 at Inwood. He died July 19, 1954. She moved to Rock Valley in 1955.

Survivors include one daughter, Marie Roozenboom of Rock Valley, and one grandson.
