Ella Mae Boone, 87, Sheldon, died Friday Oct. 24, at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.

Services were Monday, Oct. 27, at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, with the Rev. Brian Keepers officiating. Burial was at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, under the direction of Sheldon Funeral Service.

Ella Boone, daughter of William A. and Clara (Dykstra) Van Steenwyk, was born Nov. 30, 1915, in Allendorf.

She lived her youth and attended school in Orange City.

She married John Boone of Matlock on Nov. 13, 1939, in Matlock. They lived in Boyden and Sheldon. Mr. Boone died Sept. 11, 2000.

She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon.

Survivors include three sons, Clifford Boone of Sanborn, and Art and Bonnie Boone of Sheldon, and a daughter, Janice Bartholomous of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nelvina Veen of Sheldon, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Boone; a daughter, Arlene Wiersma; and two brothers, Bill Van Steenwyk and Eldon Van Steenwyk.
