Funeral services were held Friday, October 27, at 1:30 p.m., at the Porter Funeral Home and at 2 P.M., at the Methodist Church in Rock Valley for Mrs. James Thomas, 91, who died Tuesday, October 24, at the hospital at Excelsior Springs, MO, after a month's illness.

She was born June 17, 1870, on a farm near Inwood and spent most of her life in and around Rock Valley until she and her husband lived in Sioux City for a short time and she lived in Missouri for the past few years because of her health.

Her husband preceded her in death about 20 years ago.

Survivors include a son, Richard, of Browns Valley, Minn., a sister, Mrs. Amy Cinscale of Canada, and a brother, Karl, of Sacramento, Calif.

Interment was held in the Rock Valley cemetery under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.
