Hattie Boone, 96, of Sheldon, died Tuesday, April 7, 1992, at the Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon.

Services were held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, Dr. Warren Hietbrink and the Rev. William Haak officiated. Burial was in the Newkirk Cemetery under direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Sheldon.

Mrs. Boone was born Jan.9, 1896 in Newkirk, the daughter of Bouke and Jennie (Tuinstra) Vander Zwaag. She married Edward E. Boone on January 7, 1920 in Newkirk. She lived in Sioux County all her life until moving to Sheldon in 1956. He died Jan. 24, 1966.

Mrs. Boone was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheldon.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Bernard and Agatha and Thelmar and Alma, all of Sheldon, and Erwin and Margaret of Boyden; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Grooters of Sheldon, Anna Vander Zwaag of Sioux City, and Mrs. Edith Dykhuizen of Sioux Center; 13 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Audrey; a son, Eugene; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
