Carrie Boon, 94, of Sioux Center died Saturday, January 4, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, Iowa

Services were this morning (Tuesday) at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Brian Steenhoek and Rev. Wayne Sneller officiating. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Boone was born on August 19, 1902, in Orange City, the daughter of John A. and Annie (Vischer) Van Steeg. She married William H. Boone on March 9, 1921, in Orange City. He died April 6, 1987. She moved to Valley Manor Nursing Home in September 1996.

She was a member of Central Reformed Church and was active in the Missionary Circle.

Survivors include eight daughters and their husbands, June and Ted Van Den Berg, Karen and Irwin De Boer and Ruth and Gilbert Meyer, all of Sioux Center, Carolyn and Raymond Snseller and Judith and Ivan Friese, all of Parker, S.D. Joan and Paul Den Hartog and Audrey and Elmer Gesink, all of Orange City, and Lillian and Norman Hogan of Lakewood, California; three sons and their wives, Vernon and Ruth and Marvin and Donna, all of Sioux Center, and Dr. Raymond and Hazel of Jacksonville, Texas; one son-in-law, James Cochran of Kalamazoo, Michigan; 48 grandchildren; 97 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a step-grandchild; seven step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Henrietta Wesselink and Nelvina Thomas both of Orange City; and three brothers, Harold of Bloomington, MN. Dr. Clarence of Evanston, Illinois, and Wilbur of Orange City.

She was preceded in death by two sons, William D. and Kenneth; a daughter, Annabel Cochran; four grandchildren; a sister, Mabel De Haan; six brothers, Jake, the Rev. G.J., Marion, Lawrence, the Rev. Benjamin, and Clarence Lester in infancy.

Memorials have been designated for Sioux County Hospice.
