Lyda Terpstra, 68, of Hawarden, died Thursday, April 14, at Hawarden Community Hospital. Services were Saturday at Community Reformed Church in Hawarden with the Rev. David Tellinghuisen officiating. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley.

Terpstra, the former Lyda Groeneweg, was born on July 3, 1925, in Rock Valley, the daughter of Bastiaan & Lyda (Vanden Bosch) Groeneweg. She married Clarence Terpstra on February 19, 1947, in Rock Valley. The couple farmed near Hawarden.

She was a charter member of Community Reformed Church where she was a member of the Reformed Church Women Society, Willing Workers and Bible Study.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wives, Edward & Beth of Westfield, Duane & Leah of Hawarden, and Randall & Linda of Hawarden; three daughters and their husbands, Sharon Peters and Terry of Indianola; Marlys Thompson & Dennis of El Paso, Texas, and Connie Boegeili & Kendall of Indianola; 14 grandchildren; four brothers and their wives, John Groeneweg & Marion; Simon Groeneweg & Judy; Walt Groeneweg & Alta, and Albert Groeneweg & Johanna, all of Rock Valley; and two sisters, Rena De Vries of LeMars and Pat Bauman and her husband, John, of Rock Valley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Paul & Leonard; and a sister, Anna Van Ginkel.
