Died: September 3, 1986 Orange City, IowaMrs. Ada Boone, age 88, of Orange City, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.
Ada was born May 28, 1898 near Orange City, the daughter of Gerard Reinders and Maggie (Stuurop) Reinders. On January 30, 1920, she married John H. Boone at Orange City. They farmed near Orange City and then lived at Hull and Hospers. In about 1925 they moved to Orange City. Mr. Boone passed away May 5, 1973 at Orange City. In 1982 Mrs. Boone became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home. She later transferred to the Heritage House.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City and Reformed Church Women. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and the Orange City Federated Women's Club, for 11 years she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marcia) Vis of Orange City; two sons, Darlo G. Boone of Lynnfield, Mass., and Jon A. Boone of Grand Forks, N.D.; four grandchildren , two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Martin (Pauline) Van Der Maaten. In addition to ther husband Mrs. Boone was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Gilbert Reinders and two sisters, Gertrude Mulder and Grace Schalekamp.
Funeral services were held Sat. Sept. 6, at the First Reformed Church of Orange City. Revs. Frank Snuttjer and Ralph Ten Clay officiated. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home of Orange City.
