Edward Starkenburg passed away at his home in Orange City Sunday morning October 8. He was found dead in bed by his brother Richard, who went to call him for breakfast. He had been doing carpenter work at Sibley from Tuesday until Saturday and returned home at 5:30 Saturday. It was evident that he did not suffer at death but passed away quietly in his sleep.

Mr. Starkenburg was born at Pella, Iowa on June 17, 1876. He was unmarried and is survived by the following brothers and sisters; Richard of Orange City, Sjoerd of Bellflower, CA., Wesley of Corsica S.D., Anna (Mrs Martin Kamstra) of Canby, MN., Minnie (Mrs. Lou Ketel) of Bigelow MN., Arthur of Portland, Ore., John of Bruce, S.D., Margaret (Mrs. Nick Jackus) of Pierre, S.D., and Jake of Le Mars. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve who died in 1933 and Sip who died in 1942.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 at the home and 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
